In December, Xiaomi India’s Chief Business Officer Raghu Reddy also announced to leave the company.
Top executive and former Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India – Manu Kumar Jain – has left the firm. Jain, who was with Xiaomi Group for nine years, announced his departure via Instagram post.
“After nine years, I am moving on from the Xiaomi Group. I feel confident that now is the right time, as we have strong leadership teams across the world,” Jain wrote.
“Over the next few months. I will take some time-off, before taking up my next professional challenge. I am a builder at heart and would love to build something new, ideally in a new industry,” he added, without saying why he was leaving the firm.
However, according to a report by TechCrunch, Jain has been pitching investors ideas for an electric vehicle startup for several months and has also told various industry figures in the previous quarters about his plans to leave the Chinese consumer tech company.
In December, Xiaomi India’s Chief Business Officer Raghu Reddy also announced to leave the company to “pursue different growth opportunities externally.” Top-level exits at the company come at a time when the Chinese company is facing growing regulatory scrutiny in India along with increasing competition from other homegrown brands as well as Samsung.
