As Vivo completed its 10 years in India, the Chinese consumer tech major on Wednesday launched the latest Vivo V40 series, consisting of Vivo V40 and V40 Pro, in the country. The company’s latest offerings come with Zeiss-tuned cameras, claimed to offer professional-grade images.

    Vivo V40 specs and price

The Vivo V40 features a 6.78-inch 3D FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a local peak brightness of 4500 nits. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and is paired with Adreno 720 GPU. The Vivo V40 runs Android OS 14 with a promise of 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security patches.

Co-engineered with ZEISS, the V40 model has a dual camera setup, featuring a 50 MP main camera with autofocus and optical image stabilization support and a 50 MP wide-angle. It also features Aura Light flash, best suited for low-lit environments. The company has given a similar 50 MP camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

In terms of battery, the device is claimed to be the slimmest smartphone in the 5500mAh battery category and supports 80W flash charging. It is rated IP68 dust and water resistance. The smartphone comes in three elegant colors Ganges Blue, Lotus Purple, and Titanium Grey.

The Vivo V40 comes in three storage options: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage (₹34,999), 8 GB RAM+ 256 GB ROM (₹36,999), and 12 GB RAM+ 512 GB ROM (₹41,999). Pre-orders have begun and the device will be available from August 19.

Vivo V40 Pro specs and price

Like its sibling, the Vivo V40 Pro features a 6.78-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and 4500 nits peak brightness. It has a glass back and runs Funtouch OS based on Android 14. Similar to V40, the Pro model also has a 5500 mAh battery, 80W flash charging, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

However, the features that make it a Pro model include a triple rear camera setup with Aura Light flash. All co-engineered with ZEISS, the setup comprises a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 primary sensor with autofocus and optical image stabilization support, a 50-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera, and another 50-megapixel Sony IMX816 telephoto portrait sensor with 2x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom. In the front, it again has a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus support and AI facial contouring technology.

The Vivo V40 Pro is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ processor and is paired with Immortalis-G715 GPU for handling graphics-intensive tasks. It comes in two colors Ganges Blue and Titanium Grey and comes in two storage variants: 8GB + 256GB (₹49,999) and 12GB +512GB (₹55,999). Pre-orders have begun and the device will be available from August 13.
