Xiaomi’s has announced its latest wearable, the Redmi Watch 5 Active. Here’s a detailed look into all that the watch brings to the table. The company previously launched the Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro 5G last month.

The Redmi Watch 5 Active sports a 2.0 inch IPS LCD display with a peak brightness of 500 nits and a 320 x 385-pixel resolution, ensuring clear visibility even under direct sunlight. Connectivity is handled via Bluetooth v5.3 (BLE), with three microphones for enhanced noise cancellation during calls.
The smartwatch is packed with health tracking features, including 24/7 heart rate monitoring, 24/7 SpO2 monitoring, stress monitoring, and sleep tracking. Along with this, the Redmi Watch 5 Active also offers period cycle monitoring to help maintain overall health.
The Redmi Watch 5 Active delivers an impressive battery life, lasting up to 18 days on a single charge with typical usage and up to 12 days with heavy usage (as advertised by Xiaomi). This allows for extended use without frequent recharging.
Personalization seems to be the key highlight of the Redmi Watch 5 Active as users can choose from over 200 customizable watch faces, covering various styles such as formal, activity, mechanical, cartoon, and more. The watch supports 140+ sports and workout modes, with automatic sports detection available for six types of activities.
The Redmi Watch 5 Active also includes IPX8 water resistance, Hindi language support, compatibility with the Mi Fitness app, and Hyper OS for a seamless smartwatch experience. Some additional features include watch face customizations similar to phone lockscreen, task synchronization from the Notes app, event reminders from the Calendar app, weather details, fluid animations, optimized power consumption, and HyperOS-inspired design elements.
Price, colours and availability
The Redmi Watch 5 Active launches has been announced to be priced at Rs. 2,799. It will be available in two colour variants: Midnight Black and Matte Silver, and will be up for purchase starting from September 3rd through Xiaomi’s online and retail stores, Amazon India, and all other partnering retailers around India.
