Yesterday, Google launched its highly anticipated Pixel 9 series, showcasing four new devices: the Google Pixel 9, Google Pixel 9 Pro, Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Here’s a deeper dive into what each device in the series is equipped with and of course, the prices.

    Google Pixel 9

The base model of the series, the Google Pixel 9, offers a 6.3-inch OLED display, coupled with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and peak brightness of up to 2700 nits along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, providing added durability. Weighing 198 grams, the device is IP68 certified, ensuring resistance to dust and water, capable of withstanding submersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

Under the hood, the Pixel 9 is powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset, built on a 4nm process along with octa-core CPU, paired with the Mali-G715 MC7 GPU. The device is available in two RAM and storage variants: 12GB RAM+128GB storage and 12GB RAM+256GB of storage.

The dual rear camera setup includes a 50 MP wide sensor and a 48 MP ultrawide. On the front the device gets a 10.5 MP ultrawide lens. The Pixel 9 supports 4K video recording at multiple frame rates, including 60fps, and offers advanced features like Pixel Shift and Ultra HDR.

The device is equipped with a 4700 mAh battery, supporting 27W wired charging, 15W wireless charging with the Pixel Stand, and 12W wireless charging with Qi-compatible chargers. Additionally, reverse wireless charging is also available. The Pixel 9 is available in four colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Wintergreen, and Peony.

    Google Pixel 9 Pro

The Google Pixel 9 Pro shares the same dimensions as the Pixel 9 but adds a few enhancements, starting with the display. The Pro model features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a higher resolution of 1280 x 2856 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 3000 nits.

Internally, the Pixel 9 Pro is powered by the same Google Tensor G4 chipset but comes with an upgraded memory configuration. Users can choose between 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage, all paired with 16GB of RAM.

The camera system on the Pixel 9 Pro is a step up, featuring a triple camera setup consisting of a 50 MP wide lens, a 48 MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 48 MP ultrawide lens. On the front, the device features a 42 MP front camera. The device supports 8K video recording at 30fps.

The Pixel 9 Pro also includes advanced features such as Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, a thermometer for skin temperature measurement, and a Satellite SOS service for emergency situations. The 4700 mAh battery supports 27W wired charging, 21W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The Pixel 9 Pro is available in Porcelain, Rose Quartz, Hazel, and Obsidian.

    Google Pixel 9 Pro XL

For those who prefer larger screens, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL offers a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels. The display is similar to the Pro in terms of the 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and peak brightness of 3000 nits. The device is slightly larger, measuring 162.8 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm and weighing 221 grams.

Like the Pixel 9 Pro, the Pro XL is powered by the Google Tensor G4 chipset, with memory configurations starting from 128GB with 16GB RAM to 1TB with 16GB RAM. The camera system is identical to the Pro model, featuring a 50 MP wide lens, 48 MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 48 MP ultrawide lens. The front camera is also a 42 MP ultrawide lens.

The Pro XL comes with a larger 5060 mAh battery, offering extended battery life. Charging capabilities include 37W wired charging, 23W wireless charging with the Pixel Stand, and reverse wireless charging. The Pro XL is available in the same color options as the Pro model: Porcelain, Rose Quartz, Hazel, and Obsidian.

    Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold has to be the most unique device in the series, making it Google’s first foldable design. When unfolded, the device measures 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1 mm, and when folded, it measures 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.5 mm. The foldable LTPO OLED display is 8.0 inches with a resolution of 2076 x 2152 pixels, providing a large, immersive viewing experience. The cover display is a 6.3-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is powered by the same Google Tensor G4 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. The triple camera setup includes a 48 MP wide lens, a 10.8 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 10.5 MP ultrawide lens. The device also features dual 10 MP front cameras, one on the main display and one on the cover display.

The battery capacity is 4650 mAh, supporting 21W wired charging and 7.5W wireless charging. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is water-resistant with an IPX8 rating and is available in Obsidian and Porcelain.
