Samsung has unveiled two new additions to its Galaxy M series lineup, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G and the Galaxy M15 5G. This mid-range smartphone boasts several features typically found in higher-end devices, including a smooth 120Hz Super AMOLED+ display, a versatile triple-camera system, and a long-lasting battery. The handset is successor to the Samsung Galaxy M54 that was launched last year. The South Korean tech giant previously launched the Galaxy A55 and A35 5G models last week.
Samsung Galaxy M55 Specs
The Samsung Galaxy M55 features a large 6.7 inch Super AMOLED+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate for silky smooth visuals and a responsive user experience. This display gets even brighter with a peak brightness of 1000 nits, making content viewing comfortable even in bright outdoor conditions. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, built on a 4nm process for efficient performance. Paired with 8GB and 12GB or RAM, the handset is available in two storage variants, 128GB and 256GB of storage that can be expandable upto 1TB via the microSD slot.
In terms of camera, the handset boasts a triple-camera system on the back. The main sensor is a 50MP f/1.8 wide lens with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) followed by an 8MP ultrawide sensor expands your field of view for capturing expansive landscapes or group shots, while a 2MP macro sensor allows you to get close-up details. The front-facing camera also boasts a 50 MP, f/2.4, wide sensor for crystal clear selfies. The M55 is reported to get a dedicated Nightography feature too.
Powering this midranger is a 5000mAh battery, which should provide ample power for a full day of use on a single charge. The phone also supports 45W fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the battery when needed. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking, stereo speakers for enhanced audio, and expandable storage via a microSD card (uses shared SIM slot) and Bluetooth version 5.2. The phone runs Android 14 with Samsung’s One UI 6.1 skin, providing a user-friendly and customisable experience. The device also feature AI tools like Image Clipper and Object Eraser.
Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Price
Although Samsung has not revealed the prices for the Samsung Galaxy M55, rumours suggest that the device will begin from Rs. 26,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB will be priced at Rs. 29,999 and the 12GB + 256GB variants could get a price tag of Rs. 32,999. The handset will be available in two colours, Light Green and Black and will be released on Monday, April 8th at 12 PM Indian Standard Time, on Amazon India and the Galaxy store.
