Nothing, a UK-based tech company founded by Carl Pei, is gearing up to unveil its latest smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, in India on July 31. As anticipation builds, the company has been actively teasing details about the upcoming device.
The company, on Thursday, revealed that Nothing Phone 2a Plus will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC, an upgrade from its predecessor Nothing Phone 2a that features Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset. Boasting an octa-core CPU clocked at 3.0GHz, the latest device is claimed to offer around 10% faster performance and an improved GPU for enhanced gaming capabilities.
The phone will also boast a generous 12GB of RAM, which can be virtually expanded up to 20GB. For graphics performance, the Phone 2a Plus will include a Mali-G610 MC4 GPU clocked at 1.3GHz, delivering a 30% improvement over the previous model. Additionally, the new chipset supports advanced features like 4K video recording and HDR10+ playback, alongside improved power efficiency.
While specific details about other features are still under wraps, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus is expected to build upon the success of its predecessor. The device is rumored to retain its signature AMOLED display with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ resolution and adaptive refresh rates. The British consumer electronics manufacturer could also continue to offer dual 50-megapixel rear cameras and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera in its latest offering.
Meanwhile, to recap, Nothing Phone 2a, the third smartphone launch from the brand, was launched in India in March this year. It offers a compelling package with a sleek design, and impressive cameras; all at a competitive price point of Rs. 23,999 for the base model. As previously mentioned, Phone 2a is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC and boasts an AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Additionally, it features a pair of 50-megapixel cameras on its back and comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
