    Honor X9b 5G announced: Specs, expected price and more

    The Chinese smartphone brand Honor, is all set to launch the X9b 5G series in India on February 15 2024. The device was released along with Honor’s Choice X5 true wireless earbuds and followed by the new Honor Choice Watch. Along with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC gaming chipset and a powerful 5,800mAh “3-day” battery, the device was launched with the tagline “unlock your eXtra power”. Expert reviewer DXOMark has awarded the device with the Gold battery label, according to the company.

    Formerly a subsidiary brand of Huawei, Honor revealed multiple teasers that showcased the X9B 5G’s capabilities and confirmed the launch date for the Indian market through a press release on 6th of February. The company had previously exited the smartphone business in India due to the ban on Huawei devices in the country but marked its grand comeback during 2023 with the Honor 90 series.

    Honor X9B 5G: Key Specifications

    As stated in the press release, Honor confirms that the X9B 5G will be powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC chipset with the Adreno 710 GPU and is powered by a 5,800mAh battery that supports 35W wired fast charging. Honor claims that phone’s battery unit can reportedly deliver a whooping 18 hours of calling time, upto 19 hours of video playback and 12 hours of non-stop gaming on just a single charge that lasts upto 3 days of uninterrupted mobile usage. The device is also set to feature the latest MagicOS 7.2 skin with Android 13 and will get the upcoming MagicOS 8.0 Android 14 skin as well. Honor also claims that the X9B 5G will retain a surprising 80 percentage of battery capacity despite 1,000 charge cycles. The device is pitted with the RAM Turbo virtual memory that can expand the RAM upto 20GB.

    In terms of display, the X9B 5G comes with a lucid 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, coupled with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz. The company claims that the device features a 360-degree drop resistance from a height of up to 1.5 meters, due to the presence of Honor’s Ultra bounce Anti Drop display, and is IP53 water resistant, with an in-display fingerprint reader. As for the camera specifications, the X9B 5G features an impressive triple camera setup that consists of  a 108 Megapixel main camera, followed by a 5 Megapixel ultra-wide camera and finally, a 2-megapixel macro camera. It also packs a 16 Megapixel selfie camera.

    Coming to the form factor, the X9B 5G shares a striking resemblance with the Realme 12 Pro series in terms of its round camera island that resembles the “watch dial” design of the latter. The device will be available in two shades namely, Sunrise orange (with vegan leather finish as seen on the Beige variant of Realme 12 pro series) and a glossy black color.

    Honor X9B 5G: Expected Price

    The X9B 5G series is available in two variants, the vanilla 8GB+256GB variant and the 12GB+256GB variant. Although the pricing has not been confirmed yet, speculations suggest that this mid-ranger will be priced at between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000, according to 91 mobiles.
