The DMRC TRAVEL app supports a variety of payment methods, such as UPI, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and Wallets.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation yesterday launched a mobile application, called DMRC TRAVEL, for generating mobile QR tickets. The app will generate online tickets for traveling across the DMRC network and in turn, eliminate the need for passengers to go to ticket counters or vending machines or stand in queues.
The DMRC TRAVEL app supports a variety of payment methods, such as UPI, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, and Wallets, for passengers to easily complete the transaction within the app itself. Passengers can view transaction history, rebook tickets for the same origin-destination and return journey, while also accessing route information from origin to destination including interchange stations on the app. Other passenger-centric features of DMRC TRAVEL include a travel planner, fare calculator, station information, and smart card recharge.
DMRC has also upgraded its AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) Gates to provide a user-friendly, cashless, and fast experience of ticketing. The Metro Rail body in the nation’s capital says it has upgraded more than 60% of its AFC gates with QR code scanners and plans to cover the rest in the next one-two month. The app is currently available for download for Android users and is expected to be available to iOS users soon.
After downloading the DMRC TRAVEL app, passengers need to follow the subsequent steps for buying the mobile QR ticket: create an account or login using Gmail or Facebook credentials > select “Book Ticket” Menu > enter source and destination station > click on “Book Ticket”. Here price, number of stops, and journey time for the selected source and destination station will be displayed to the passengers. Following this, they need to select the number of tickets > proceed to book the ticket > confirm purchase details > and make payment via their preferred payment method. After successful payment, the DMRC TRAVEL app will generate a mobile QR ticket.
Passengers need to present this QR ticket at the AFC Gate during entry and exit of the metro station. Travelers can view the purchased tickets in the “View Transaction” menu, helping them to access and manage their tickets as needed.
