The Sony LinkBuds S (WF-LS900N) earbuds are priced at Rs 16,990 and are available in black, white, and beige color options.

Sony has launched LinkBuds S (WF-LS900N) earbuds, with active noise cancellation, in India. The device, which succeeds Sony LinkBuds (WF-L900), was launched globally in May 2022 and is positioned just below the company’s flagship WF-1000XM4 true wireless headset.

    Specifications:

The 4.8 gm Sony LinkBuds S are claimed to be the world’s smallest and lightest. “We’ve kept the size down by developing a compact driver and integrating the Bluetooth Audio SoC (System on Chip) and high-quality noise-cancelling processor in one single chip. It’s 40% smaller than the WF-1000XM4,” Sony said.

The LinkBuds S is powered by the company’s Integrated Processor V1, has a 5 mm driver unit, and features enhanced noise-canceling. It uses Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity. The device supports high-resolution audio, thanks to Sony’s industry-adopted audio coding technology – LDAC. “LDAC transmits approximately three times more data than conventional Bluetooth audio, allowing you to enjoy High-Resolution Audio content in exceptional quality, as close as possible to that of a dedicated wired connection,” the company said.

The earbuds can automatically switch between Ambient Sound Mode and noise canceling depending on the wearer’s surroundings. Users can further set ‘Speak-to-Chat’ to automatically pause the music as soon as they speak to someone, and once the conversation stops, the music resumes automatically. The proximity sensors turn off the music as the device is taken out of the ear and vice versa.

With Precise Voice Pickup Technology and advanced audio signal processing, users can make and receive calls even in noisy environments. Furthermore, the device support Microsoft Soundscape, an app that announces information about the surroundings and is particularly helpful for visually impaired people. For hands-free help, the device supports Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri.

Sony, which has a reputation for making excellent-sounding devices, has something for gamers too! The LinkBuds S uses a new sensor and spatial sound technology that is claimed to deliver immersive sound for Augmented Reality games like ‘Ingress’ from Niantic.

Some other features include customizable touch controls and pairing with two Bluetooth devices at the same time. The stylish and environmental consciousness LinkBuds S uses recycled plastic materials from automobile parts, while the packaging material also does not include any plastic. The cherry on top is that these earbuds are rated IPX4 for water and sweat resistance.

The battery life of the earbuds is claimed to be up to 20 hours for the earpieces and charging case together. Five minutes of quick charging can give up to 60 minutes of playtime. Along with the LinkBuds S, users get four sizes of earbud tips and a USB-C charging cable.

The Sony LinkBuds S (WF-LS900N) earbuds are available in black, white, and beige color options. The device is priced at Rs 16,990, and Sony is offering a cashback of Rs 3,000 on purchases via select debit and credit cards by this month’s end.
