Google has launched Chromecast with Google TV (HD) in India. The newest Google Chromecast is being launched after two years the company introduced its 4K HDR streaming support and the introduction of a remote. The company will also be updating its older Chromecast with a Google TV unit.

The design of the new device is similar to the 4K variant with the same white-finished remote. The new Chromecast supports 1080p or Full HD streaming. The oval-shaped remote offers Google Assistant for voice control and also has dedicated buttons for Netflix and YouTube. The navigation circle on top with buttons for Back, Home, Mute, Power, TV Input, and Google Assistant. You can also control your smart home appliances and control your thermostat, turn on/off your lights or even stream your Nest security camera feed directly to the TV. The new Chromecast runs on the Android 12 version-based Google TV out of the box.
The Full HD Google Chromecast is priced at around Rs 4,500 in India, putting it at par with the Amazon Fire TV Stick, a popular choice for smart TV buyers. Even though the 4K Chromecast has been around since 2020 in other markets, Google launched it in India just this year for Rs 6000.
