    Tecno announced the much-anticipated Tecno Phantom V Flip2 and the V Fold2 on Sept 13th. Adding on to its foldable portfolio the device gets an array of features and is expected to launch later this month. Here’s an in-depth look at the specifications and expected pricing of this device.

    The Phantom V Flip2 sports a 7.85 inch Foldable LTPO AMOLED primary display, offering a visual experience with 1 billion colors, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a resolution of 2000 x 2296 pixels (with a pixel density of 388 ppi). The screen-to-body ratio stands at 88.2% and the device features 2160Hz High-Frequency PWM Dimming.

    When folded, the device features a 6.42-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display, with a peak brightness of 1600 nits and offering a high resolution of 1080 x 2550 pixels with a 431 ppi density. Both displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and are IP54 rated for dust and splash resistance.

    Under the hood, the Phantom V Flip2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset and runs on Android 14 with Tecno’s HiOS 14 OS, guaranteeing two major Android upgrades in the future. With 256GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM and 8GB of virtual RAM, users won’t need to worry about running out of space or slowing down, though it lacks a microSD card slot.

    In terms of imaging, the V Flip2 features a dual camera system that consists of one 50 MP primary wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/1.9, with PDAF and OIS, followed by a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. The camera array supports 4K video recording at 30fps and 1080p at 30/60fps, making it a versatile tool for content creators. On the front, the device is equipped with a 32 MP selfie camera, capable of shooting in 1080p at 60fps.

    Powering the device is a 5750 mAh battery. When it comes to charging, the Phantom V Flip2 features 70W wired charging support that can charge the device to 50% in 20 minutes and fully charge it in just 49 minutes (as advertised by Tecno). Furthermore, the device also supports 15W wireless charging support.

    The device features stereo speakers built into the device, which provide Hi-Res 24-bit/192kHz audio, and in terms of connectivity, the Phantom V Flip2 comes with Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.3, and an array of positioning systems like GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS. It also supports NFC and FM radio, with the ability to record broadcasts, and features a USB Type-C port with OTG support.

    Additionally, the device features Tecno AI with various features like wallpaper generators and other tools, an under-display fingerprint sensor, while additional sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass.

    Price, colours and availability

    The Tecno Phantom V Flip2 is expected be priced at ₹59,990 and will be available in two colour variants, Travertine Green and Moondust Grey. More details regarding availability and release date will be revealed soon by Tecno.
