HMD Global, in collaboration with Mattel, launched the limited-edition HMD Barbie Phone today. This nostalgic device pays homage to the iconic doll’s era, combining retro charm with modern features. The company had previously teased the release during its stunt at MWC 2024 this year.

The HMD Barbie flip phone features a retro flip design, reminiscent of classic flip phones from the past. The device is available in a vibrant Power Pink color, perfectly complementing the Barbie brand. It features a compact form factor, making it easy to carry and use.
The phone sports a 2.8-inch QVGA display, offering clear visuals for basic tasks. A secondary 1.77-inch QQVGA display is also present for quick glances at notifications and time. For capturing memories, the Barbie flip phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with a built-in flashlight.
Powered by the Qualcomm 215 Mobile Platform, the Barbie flip phone runs on the KaiOS 3.1 operating system, providing a user-friendly interface. In terms of attentional to detailing, the phone’s keypad features Barbie-themed symbols and the icons are pink to match the theme.
The flip phone also packs a 1450mAh removable battery, offering up to 7 hours of talk time on 2G networks, 6.3 hours on 3G networks, and 3.8 hours on 4G networks. Additional connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS/AGPS, USB Type-C, and Wi-Fi.
It supports 4G LTE networks, ensuring fast and reliable internet access. Additional features include an MP3 player, FM radio, and a range of pre-installed apps. Additional apps can be installed through the built-in KaiOS App Store.
