Vauxhall seems to have made a bold statement in the UK automotive market with the launch of the Vauxhall Frontera electric SUV, as it will be the first car in the country to offer list price parity between its electric and petrol hybrid versions, a significant departure from the usual price premium associated with electric vehicles This move aligns with Vauxhall’s commitment to making electric mobility accessible to a wider audience.
Vauxhall Frontera features
The Vauxhall Frontera boasts a modern and rugged design, reflecting Vauxhall’s “Bold and Pure” aesthetic. With a length of 4,380 mm, it sits comfortably between the Mokka and the Grandland in Vauxhall’s SUV lineup. Despite its compact size, the Frontera offers a surprisingly spacious interior, with more trunk space with the rear seats down than the larger Astra Sports Tourer Electric.
Inside, the Frontera features a redesigned steering wheel and dual 10-inch screens, providing a modern and intuitive driving experience. Satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging come as standard.
Buyers can choose between two trim levels: Design and GS. Design models offer a range of features including 16-inch wheels, automatic headlights, and wipers, while GS models add 17-inch alloy wheels, a black roof, and Intelli-Seat front seats.
The electric version of the Frontera is powered by a 113hp electric motor and a 44 kWh battery, providing a range of 299 km. Vauxhall has plans to introduce a ‘Long Range‘ version next year, offering up to 399 km of range. However, the pricing for this model has yet to be announced.
To further encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, Vauxhall is offering its “Plug & Go” package.
